It also reduces the rolling of the sheet and helps reduce hand fatigue since you can now sand with your whole hand. For the best sanding results, sand with the grain of the wood and work through a sequence of grits, from coarse to ultra-fine, skipping no more than one grit between sanding steps – 60-80 grit (coarse) removes, 100-150 grit (medium) smooths, and 180-400 grit (fine/ultra-fine) finishes.
